In the footsteps of Simenon (GR012)
Presentation
Georges Simenon spent his childhood and teenage years in Liège. Later, renowned for the sheer scale of his work, he freely admitted that he often drew his literary inspiration from his memories of Liège’s landscapes, characters and atmosphere. The walk is an opportunity to discover, in the steps of Maigret's creator, the typical atmosphere of the first quarter of the 20th century, when Liège earned the title of the Ardent City. Discover the places where the great writer spent his childhood and youth. Exceptional admission to the Caque, a meeting place for the young Simenon's artist companions, as described in the novel The Crime of Inspector Maigret. It is impossible not to be impressed by the atmosphere conjured up so vividly by Simenon.
