La Boverie (GR017B)

A world-renowned Museum of Fine Arts and exhibition centre can be found in Parc de la Boverie, nestled between the Meuse River and the Dérivation Canal, which boasts a rose garden, Nicolas Schöffer's Cybernetic Tower and a new pond as its leading attractions. The building erected for the 1905 World Fair serves as its cultural heart under the name "La Boverie". It is home to the Liège Museum of Fine Arts and a sparkling new space for multi-faceted temporary exhibitions that give visitors a unique experience every time. The permanent collections of the Museum showcase Liège's artistic jewels, featuring works by artists such as Lambert Lombard, Gérard de Lairesse, Ingres, Gauguin, Chagall, Picasso, Evenepoel, Delvaux and Magritte and illustrating the modernity of art through time, from the Renaissance to the present day. La Boverie also hosts many temporary exhibitions organised jointly with the Louvre.
